Congratulations to our friends and proud parents Alisa & Jon and their son Evan. They just welcomed a daughter, Karen Jeanne to their family on Wednesday, October 22nd, weighing in at 7lbs, 1oz. Both mother and daughter are home and well. Welcome to the world Karen! I shared Karen’s photos with Catherine this evening [...] I’ve been re-reading Confessions of a Slacker Mom. This is a short little light narrative read that my mother in law gave me shortly after Catherine’s birth. I think her reasoning was to point out to me that parenting could be much simpler or much more difficult depending on the path I chose. Or [...] I definitely have to file this under the “What Were They Thinking?” category. A mother in Wisconsin stole her teenage daughter’s identity, attended high school and joined the cheerleading squad. The woman claimed she was making up for the childhood she never had. Wow is all I have to say. I do hope that [...] I’ll start by saying I’m biased….I’m a school librarian…. With that said I’d love to see a world where not a single book was banned or challenged, but in my position I know that’s not the case. So we often sit poised and ready with procedures in hand ready when parents and community members [...] |
